WHAT’S THE HEAVIEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE SURF? I almost drowned last year whilst out training early on a Wednesday morning. In heavy surf I rolled a wave and it sucked me back over and I landed straight on top of the nose of Stuart Snell’s board. I was so winded that when the next wave came I had no air, couldn’t hold onto my board and went under. The next thing I remember was Stuart and Kristyl Smith paddling me to the beach. Apparently Stuart felt me at his feet under the white water and had to pick me up off the bottom
